Thor: The dark world
In recent years the Marvel franchise and super hero based films have become more and more popular with adults who were child hood fans and kids who are still coming into the idea of comics and superheroes.
But as the franchises grew bigger they gained bigger budgets allowing them to create bigger projects, starting with a very unrealistic and badly done 70's spiderman TV show has now become a $1.200.000.000 budget project that spans over 6 movies and 10 years of work.
Marvel having had companies such as Disney, Fox and Sony create these films has been a big push from the early years, people were skeptical about the cross media convergence but in the end it paid of well and they have made some fun and enjoyable movies that show no sign of stopping and have films rolled out all the way to the year 2021.
Thor two is the second in marvels phase 2 movies. The budget is TBD but most marvel films have a budget between $150.000 and $250.000 and so far has raised $109.400.000 and is more popular in Europe than in the states, an attraction being that part of the movie i set in Greenwhich.
The movie was directed by Alan Taylor and produced by Kevin Feige who has produced or executively produced every Marvel movie to date.
Thor 2 premiered on the 22nd of October 2013 at the Odeon at Leicester square and was released internationally on the 30th of October 2013.
I saw the film on Friday and thought it was incredibly done, the CGI and amazing effects and sets are outstanding and reflect how far the franchise has come. The response in the cinema from the audience was perfect, contrasting between the tense and more serious scenes and the comedic scenes. The cast are all so well suited for their parts that they feel like the real characters.
Chris Hemsworth (Thor) has evolved into the character and genuinely seems proud to play the part, but it was Tom Hiddleston (Loki) that stole the film, every time he appeared on screen his overwhelming acting is so thorough that you cant help but love him even though he was and is a main antagonist of Thor and Avengers Assemble.. As well as giving another popular British star Idris Alba (Heimdell) a larger part in this movie than the last Probably because they're British and British actors can sell drama better than anyone.
If you are interested in seeing the film you can see it being advertised all over the place on billboards, buses, posters, on youtube, facebook, the comic con footage, looking at the cinema for times and more.
